A New Start

After a little more than 4 years, it’s time to get back on the road. This time, my wheels are going to wear off around Latin America. And I’m not going to pedal alone; I’m off with my girlfriend! How exciting is that!!  The good news is that it was her idea to cycle Latin America. She’s also a keen cycle-tourer and I can’t wait to get going as a duo.

Tiphaine’s from Britany, in France. She’s been living in Canada for more than 16 years, has lost her French accent and speaks Québécois fluently… except after speaking with her family for a while! I’ve met her in my workplace and instantly connected with her. We rode together around New Brunswick and did Quebec – Ottawa return journey along with a couple of friends as well as doing a few weekend trips. It was during all those trips we knew we were going to cycle the Americas together.

So, at the end of April, we’re taking off from Las Vegas. The plan is to cycle through Baja California and through Mexico City before heading toward the Yucatan Peninsula before crossing Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica et Panama. We’ll probably take a boat to Colombia and from there, we’re going south; Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina to reach Ushuaia and the end of the world at the Tierra del Fuego.
